Default Cap the river?

This was a great game with four awful players. Unfortunately, I’m about 15 BB down early. Trying not to let it bug me, especially after I rivered a set on a guy who had top pair on the flop (checked thru), made two pair on the turn (called my bet with me having second pair) and gave me action a’ plenty on the river.

Villain in this hand loved his flush draws and I knew that in this hand. So, should I have capped the river with a pair on the board?

Ultimate Bet 0.50/1 Hold'em (5 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Flop: (7 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, MP checks, Hero bets, SB folds, MP calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets, MP calls.

River: (6.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP bets, Hero raises, MP 3-bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 12.50 BB
Main Pot: 12.50 BB, between MP and Hero. > Pot won by Hero (12.50 BB).

Results in white below:
MP shows Kc 3c (flush, king high).
Hero shows Qc Ac (flush, ace high).
Outcome: Hero wins 12.50 BB.

Thank you in advance for any comments.

I would probably cap here. Hard to put MP on a boat since he just check called the turn.

I'd expect opponents to sometimes 3-bet with as little as 3 Jacks or any flush, so I say cap away.
