Will casinos cash checks??
I've heard that casinos will cash payroll checks. If this is true would they also cash checks from Party Poker if you were to buy a rack of chips with it?

Re: Will casinos cash checks??
It has been my experience that they will NOT cash payroll checks. Nor will they cash third party checks.
They will cash your personal check. |

Also, be prepared to spend time at the cage filling out paperwork as if you're taking out a mortgage. I think DOD Top Secret clearance is required as well, so you might want to make sure you don't have any troubles with the secret service.
It seems there's always a person doing this at the front of the line when I'm waiting to cash out, especially when I'm coming off a fresh suckout to end my night and I'm pissed off as it is. |

In the movie "Vegas Vacation" the Mirage cashed a personal check for Clark Griswold because he was a guest of the hotel.

[ QUOTE ]
It has been my experience that they will NOT cash payroll checks. Nor will they cash third party checks. [/ QUOTE ] That's not true. Most casinos will cash payroll checks if it's drawn on a local bank and you're locally employed. However, since the original poster probably isn't a local, he'll need to call the casino ahead of time and ask for a line of credit. The casino will fax an application, you fill it out, they run a credit check on you, and, assuming everything is OK, give you a line of credit. You can then cash pretty much anything you want up to your credit limit. The whole process to get a line of credit usually takes at least 2 weeks, so you need to plan in advance. [ QUOTE ] They will cash your personal check. [/ QUOTE ] True, but if you don't have a line of credit, they'll usually impose a rather low maximum on the amount they're willing to cash, usually about $300. |

Re: Will casinos cash checks??
Station casinos had a promotion going where they would give prizes to locals who cashed their payroll check there. I don't think they cashed out of town payroll checks.
Most Vegas casinos will cash personal checks up to a certain amount if you have not cashed any other personal checks in town within a certain number of days. It used to be $500 within 5 days but that was a few years ago. This is one of those things I wish I did not know about. I doubt anybody will take a check from PP. |
