A semi-interesting 99 hand ($25 NL)

I was talking to a friend, and this hand (which is like 2 months old) came up. I was thinking the flop was an easy fold, he thought it was a raise or fold situation. Any merit to raising?

As I said, it's an old hand... so I don't remember any specific reads. SB was the big stack at the table and was playing fairly aggressively, BB was new to me, this was one of the first hands he played.

I think raising would be interesting, except I wouldn't know what to do if SB came over the top. I'm mostly a limit player, this session was the result of drunken-ness and a -40BB session at the limit tables, so I don't have a good feel for the game.

Hero folds. Unless hero is drunk.

Drunk Hero raises to $14 (or enough to put BB all in or force him to push through a pot sized raise). A perfectly good play when you're in the mood to gamble.

I raise the flop often in this spot, but only after a few dozen hands with BB.

This should be obvious, SB check-raising a bet and raise (by a preflop raiser) means 99 is without a doubt no good.
