Default Stealing Blinds

Theoretical Question about stealing blinds
what is more important factor when stealing ... the tightness of the blinds or position.
in a standard MTT w/ 6 big blinds left utg do you push w/ AJ if the blinds are complete rocks who you have never seen defend ? or is that too precarious of a move b/c you are utg and 9 ppl are left to act. you have a pretty short stack compared to the rest of the players but an even stack with the blinds.

thanks
pete

I think you should be pushing with any kind of good hand when you have less than 10 big blinds left. You're going to get blinded out shortly anyways, if you want to continue to contend and try to place higher you have to push and try to double or triple up.

UTG with 6BB left in my stack I don't have the luxury of considering how tight the blinds are. My fold equity is almost nil as it is and there's no guarantee I'll get a hand in the next orbit that I'll want to see called. AJo would be an automatic push there.
