Random blind defense
6 handed.
SB is 35/9/1 Button is 32/9/1 I have Kh9s in BB. folded to button who open raises. sb calls, I call. flop comes 7h 9c Ts sb checks, I donk, button calls, sb raises, I call, button calls. Turn is the 8d sb leads, I fold.. Should I just muck to the flop raise? Would check raising flop be better? |

Re: Random blind defense
Fold getting 10:1? I don't think so. But on the turn, yes. I would probably like to c/r this some of the time. In this situation you could fold the flop (btn bets, sb raises), but I also like betting out, getting the btn to raise overs and the SB (usually) folds, and you 3-bet or smooth call and donk the turn. But good defense. I think you played it pretty standard with the exception of the option of c/r the flop.

Re: Random blind defense
The button looks reasonably passive so I don't think he is going to raise with overs. However, I still like the flop donkbet for informational purposes. If we check, button bets, SB calls/raises, we really havent learnt anything extra about the buttons hand. So I like the donkbet.
I also fold the turn. Villain isn't particularly aggressive -- why isn't he scared of the straight? We also have button to act behind. I guess we are ahead some small percentage of the time to a pair+draw combo, but even then the implied odds aren't great. Lay it down. |
