O8 question id rather post here as i dont want to cause prob with fans

I played 08 several times and i feel as if that game has the most luck involved. I mean litteraly every hand all you do is draw to the nuts. IF you dont you generally lose. I dont see how this has that much skilled involved. With several players to a flop there is little bluffing to be done and to me it becomes a card catching affair. Maybe im wrong but with Hold em and stud there is a variety of things that you could represent and can actually make more playes. Specifically with fixed limit O8 i dont see it being the same. Am i wrong? Is there a great deal of skill up at highlimit 08? Maybe i just like stud and holdem too much...

If you have very little skill in this game, it will appear that way. However, O/8 is the softest and easiest game to make money at. Just need to know what your doin.

i aggree ive crushed the 4-8 game at AC and win online all the time. Its just to god dam boring. But really my issue is how is it beatable at a 20-40 level. Most of my profit comes from fools not drawing to the nutz. I just sit wait catcha good hand and bam. It cant be that easy up high? Can it? I just wonder how a game like this can be beatable at high levels. I see it more as a card catching affair there,....

Sounds like skill to me. Don't forget, playing pre-flop is also a skill.

It's also not just about the pots you win, but about the money in those pots. If you read Ray Zee's book, it'll give you a lot of insight into playing O8
