Default Playalong with Ed Miller - repost from archives

I found this link while looking through the archives. It has excellent step-by-step analysis and insight from the "noted poker authority" himself.

Enjoy!

This one needs some bumping. Actually an excellent page, with good explanations of why one of the alternatives are correct and gives pretty good reasons to choose all of them as well. I've done four or five of the tests and found something to improve my game with in every one.

Fantastic.

A lot of others should take this quiz. Even if you do get the answers right, you still may not no all the reasons for doing what your doing.

Ed explains it to perfection.

Nice post. I remember taking this quiz when it was first posted and not doing very well. But now, thanks to a very worn out copy of SSH, it seemed really easy. It's a great way to see, in a real life situation, whether you apply Ed's concepts correctly or not.

That's an excellent quiz.

I got 6 out of 8 because I missed the two flop raises. Maybe that explains why my post-flop aggression is hovering around 2.00 despite my efforts to find ways to increase it.

I got a 6 out of 8. I nailed both flop raises, but I got the preflop play wrong. On the first one, I folded, because I reasoned if I wouldn't limp with Q8 suited for one small bet in that position, I wouldn't call somebody's raise for one small bet. Maybe this is a leak.

On the second one, I just limped with KJs, hoping to hit the flop with either a straight or flush draw, or to get out cheaply if I miss completely. Probably another leak.

Sweet I got 7 out of 8.
Only slighty error was the raise with KJs.
I raised but the wrong reason.

Just a quick tip in case someone missed it: when you've answered the first quiz, you can click "previous column" for another one. I think there were five or six of them.
