How low can you go? (vpip)
Hello.
I recently moved up to the 3//6 short handed to test out how the games are. A friend of mine told me the short handed were great for him at 5/10 and 10/20 on party. Anyways, I just started and I know I don't have many hands played (1k hands), but I was wondering if im not playing enough hands/aggressive enough. My vpip usually hovers around 13-14 (my friend makes fun of me all the time )whether it'll be full or 6 handed. |

I HATE blanket statements like this, but I really don't think it's possible to win even at 3/6 playing so few hands. I'd draw the line around 17

Re: How low can you go? (vpip)
It should be significantly higher 22-26. 13-14% VPiP is a losing strategy. Rocks get killed in 6-max because they aren't getting full value from their hands. You should be raising more hands then you're currently entering the pot with.

Thanks for the replies. I guess ill have to either practice and get this weaktightness out or go back to ten handed. But the 6 handed tables look so juicy its hard not not to try to learn.

Don't play shorthanded for a while until you've become a better player. Then you can consider it again.

Re: How low can you go? (vpip)
Obviously experience is the best way to become a better player. I'm probably way over my head with 3//6 short and party doesn't have a a 2//4 short. Any recs on possible games I should try besides party 1//2? I've have been playing 2//4 recently and have had a faur amount of success but I feel playing there won't help me much in terms of the short handed games
