There aren't as many T's left as there are 9's and J's. How much does this guy suck? I'd very very likely bet.

Unless I have a reason to believe otherwise, in situations like this, I always figure the chances that villain has a T just went down and my hand just got better.

Depending on the player, you could check to induce a bluff, but without a GREAT read, I'd bet.

Know what you'll do if he raises.

Isn't this a situation where you're not going to get called by a worse hand? So, if he calls I think you're looking at, at best, a split. Not to mention that if you bet and he calls, the pot gets raked, so you're putting in a bet to win a half a bet (if I recall the 'stars rake structure, correctly).

That would be some bluff...Hero is last to act and it's been checked to him.

I had position on him and I dont think he would take the chance to check raise me on the river. I didnt have enough hands to get a good read on him but he wasnt that good.

Given that you're up against SB, there are probably a wider range of hands he'd complete.

So, I think you're more likely to have the best hand, and there are some weaker hands he might call down with.

In a vacuum, I would probably fire a bet on the river here because I've run into enough calling stations who would pay me off with a weaker hand.

Of course, it depends on your read. If he's tricky enough to check-raise the river (or if he's willing to fold a marginal hand), then checking behind is OK.
