What is causing the Party disconnect problems?

Just curious what you guys think it is. Possibilities include:

1. Party upgraded their software/servers and screwed up somehow.

I don't think it's this one, they seem to handle the technical side of their business well (nice software, fast servers, etc)

2. Hackers are DDosing the site

I'd believe this one if it happened for a few hours or maybe a day, but my understanding is DDos attacks can not cripple a large site like party longer than that.

3. Actually 1 and 2 is all I got. Any other possibilities please list it here.
