Default Quick question regarding shorthanded games...

I kind of skipped the shorthanded ring games in my poker education. Never put the time in at 5/10 and 10/20 that most did - and I think I paid for that later at higher limits. But I've been concentrating a lot on SH play lately, almost exclusively, and feel I have improved. My question though - did you guys 4table (or more) these games? Because right now, I can only do 2. Perhaps it is just more difficult at upper limits due to player reads - but I'm curious if you were able to play 4-6 tables at a lower limit such as 5/10 SH. Thanks.

Right now, I am playing 5/10-6 to work on my shorthanded play. At first, I played two tables and even that seemed hectic. That was surprising as I was coming from playing four tables of ten-handed, and that always felt comfortable (in fact, the few times I tried to play five instead it went fine). Now, I am able to do three short tables comfortably (I also play three of shorthanded no limit and feel fine). I'm sure in time I'll be able to do four. Your capacity goes up over time. It also depends how short you are playing. Three six-handed tables is a lot easier than three three-handed. If you play a mix of three- and six-handed tables, you really see the difference: you are constantly making decisions at the short table while the full one feels like it is going in slow motion.

I 8table the 30/60 with no problem and I'm ok playing maybe 5-6 tables 6handed but if they're really short (<=4) I have a hard time keeping up with more than 2. I've been taking shots in the shorthanded 50/100 and 100/200 games on crypto and I've been 1-tabling (and getting the piss beat out of me ).

Thanks for the responses. I guess it does make a difference that I'm playing 2 tables w/ only 3-4 people. That thread in the HUSH forum was interesting as well, people 8-tabling 5/10. Wow.
