$30 MTT on Stars. Down to 2 tables.
Blinds 600-1200 w/ antes. Down to two tables of six.I have 43,000 in chips. I am in middle position, and second in chips. UTG raise 3 x bb, its folded around to me. UTG is the big stack with 81,966. I have AK. I push all in.

I'm not sure I like it. The problem I see with pushing here is that it obviously looks like AK or a medium pair 88-JJ that doesn't want a call. I think a flat call or a reraise to about 10-12k is better. I reraise looks really scary even to the big stack, and he's only come over the top with AA-QQ imo.

well, theres a reason people have been telling you to re-raise to 10k and the results are an excellent example of why.
Is there any chance he comes back over you pre-flop? NO. so he calls. the flop has all overs, he checks, you push-in then, he folds. like an earlier poster said, your raise screams your hand isnt AA-QQ, but in all fairness he made a pretty terrible call. |
