Default When a friend joins your table.

2/5 NL at Borgata last week. My friend, who's been railbirding me for a while, decides to take the empty seat two to my left. Then this comes up when I'm on the button.

Hero- 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

A couple of limps, I limp, BB(my buddy) knocks.

Flop Kx2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

BB bets $20, folded to me, I call.

Turn is a non-heart, 8 or 9 IIRC.

BB bets $50, I call.

River is a 4, I got the nuts.

He checks, I think for a bit, and throw out $120. He calls with K2. Not an exciting hand, but he was chastising me afterward for not checking it down on the river .
He said he assumed I was on the flush draw, and missed, so he checked to be NICE, assuming he had me beat with his two pair. I just thought it was funny that he was basically advocating that we softplay with each other since there were only the two of us. Even if I were going to consider doing this, at what point is that just plain idiocy? When 1 more good friend jumps in? 2? 3? This is why it bothers me when we go to A/C or Foxwoods and a friend insists on jumping on my table.

When you're at the table, it's for business. When you're away from the table, it's a friendship. Play to win, not to be nice.

Unless your friend is Shannon Elizabeth, you should bet the river and play your friends as you would any other foe. Also, make it known that you are not going to be softplaying each other BEFORE you get to the casino.

Players who check made hands because they are friends are gay, unless like I said before one is a hot model/actress you are trying to score points with IMHO.

Or you could take her money and then bribe her later and pay her off. It would definitely be worth it.
