Default Standard reraising amounts preflop

My standard preflop raise is 4XBB+1BB per limper. But what is the standard reraising amount of someone has raised the pot before me? I have heard a pot sized reraise mentioned in other threads. How would this be calculated? For example, say I have AA on the button. UTG raises to 3BB, MP calls 3BB, Hero? I guess I would call 3BB which would make the pot 10.5BB, so 10.5BB+3BB, I would raise it to approximately 13.5BB total. Did I calculate this right, and is a pot sized reraise preflop standard?

Pot size raise is calling the 3 making the pot 10.5 and then raising pot making it 21 to go.

No, I think the OP had it right the first time. Unless my brain needs a reboot.

Yes OP calculated it right, and that's fairly standard. If there's just a PFR only and it's folded to Hero, my reraise is usually 3x the PFR's bet.

Can you explain exactly how you come up with a pot-sized raise amount in a general situation. I always here people say "raise the pot" but I have no idea what that means. I was going to start a thread about this last week.

Call the bet. Count the whole pot after your call. Raise by that ammount. So your call + your raise is what you're 'making it.'

Example. Pot is 5. Opponent bets 3. You want to PSR, so first you call the three. The total pot now is 5 + 3 + 3 = 11. So you raise 11 more. Your call + your raise = 3 + 11 = 14. So to make a PSR here, you make it 14 to go.

I've seen 3.5BB + 1BB/limper. A pot-sized raise is a bit more; 5BB + 2BB/limper. Maybe. See below.

Pot at this point is .5 + 1 + 3 + 3 = 7.5. If you call, that brings it to 10.5. I thought a PSR would make it 3 + 10.5, or 14.5BB? So is it 21, or 14.5? I think in pot-limit games, a raise here is limited to 14.5.
