Question regarding the Gold Coast and questions about large sums
I will be in Vegas from June 1 - 10 and am staying at the Gold Coast. Does anyone know if the Gold Coast has safes in the rooms and if so are they reliable? If not, where would be a good place to store my roll while in Vegas?
When I'm going to and from the poker room I have no problem carrying the cash - but if I decide to go out to a club or something I don't want to have my roll on me if I don't need to. All comments and thoughts appreciated. caveat: I live in Canada and am not going to be doing any wire transfers or anything else. I am bring Canadian cash to vegas and will be converting it to american funds at the Bellagio as I need it. This is why I am wondering about storing cash and why other options are not available to me. Also, for anyone else from Canada I reccommend checking out the Belagio exchange rate - it's better than anything I could get locally and logistically it's a lot simpler than getting a bunch of cash converted to US funds... and then bringing it back and converting it back to Canadian. Using the Belagio allows you to minimize the losses you will take on buying/selling currency. |

Re: Question regarding the Gold Coast and questions about large sums
My suggestion is to call the 800 number. Probably get a faster response from someone who knows for sure. But you can get safe deposit boxes or just deposit your cash into a "front money" account. Then just ask for it as needed. You'll need ID to do that so no one but yourself can get into your account.
Thats what lots of people who play at the same rooms out here do. |

I would deposit my money at the cage at the gold coast and withdraw as I needed? What kind of paper work is involved in that to ensure your money doesn't get "lost" somehow? I would love some more information on how this works. |

Re: Question regarding the Gold Coast and questions about large sums
Well when I use to be a pit supervisor, people would open credit accounts of just deposit money like a bank account. You would just go to a supervisor or the cage and withdraw from your account how much you would like. Just have to sign for it and verify the right amount is taken. This is the most secure way in the casino to keep money in. They will give you a receipt and if you notice anything incorrect, they'll fix it right there. Errors are basically non-existant in this area though. I would suggest that anyone who is going to carry 5 figures or more with them to use this method. The whole transaction takes about 3 minutes maybe. They will take your ID and scan it into the computer to have a backup copy. Thats pretty much it, very simple way to conduct business.
