QQ and a king flops ughh.
Party 2/4. First hand.
Pre flop: EP player open raises, folds to me in the co(posted a blind) and i 3-bet with QQ folds to ep player who calls. Flop: Kxx He bets and i call. Turn: x He bets and i call. River: x He bets and i call. I hate these types of spots and felt weird calling down but honestly i didn't have a better plan. How would you have played it? |

Re: QQ and a king flops ughh.
I hate being in this spot, and often end up calling down.
What about raising the flop? If you get 3-bet, fold the turn. If called, check behind the turn and call the river. |

Re: QQ and a king flops ughh.
Nice hand.
I had a similar hand where I three-bet KK against a loosish/aggro type in a Stars 5/10 game. Flop came down AQx and he bet into me. I called down and hated myself, but couldn't think of anything really to do. I remember a comment Hobbs transmitted to me from some noted Mid-, High- poster (maybe Clark or Nate or someone like that... it's not that important): If your plan in a heads-up pot involves folding KK, you should find a new plan... A similar idea applies here. You have a good hand with showdown value, but can never be confident you have enough value to raise. So you get to showdown. That's all. |
