So how is my play here? my girlfriend says "very stupid".

okay, so my relationship with this girl is kinda complicated. we;ve been together for about a month and we broke up on saturday and got back together on sunday. anyways, like 2 months before we started going out she was dating this frat guy(shes in a sorority) who i didnt like very much. she dumped him to date me, this seemed to anger him a bit. he called my cell a few times and sent me mean ims, but he doesnt know what i look like or where i live.

so anyways, today im at school with my headphones on, walking down a path in the middle of the forest. and who do i see but frat guy...walking with some little freshman girl. since we;re on a fairly narrow path, i stay a little closer to the middle of the path than i should and give him a little shoulder, after which he stumbles and almost falls down. but i dont think he knows who i am and i dont think he noticed i did it on purpose, so we both keep walking. when i get home from class theres a message from my gf who is pissed as hell that i "[censored] with him". apparently the girl who he was with is in her sorority and recognized me and told her. did i blow it here? i feel somewhat bad because i caused her some unnecessary drama, but seriously, does anyone pass up this opportunity to just give a little subtle shove or something?

I would say you need to listen to your GF more, because as described that was pretty stupid.

If you told me that you walked up to him, told him who you were and asked what his problem was, I'd be ok.

Also just walking past and doing nothing is good too.

This whole thing sounds a bit silly. Why did you give him some shoulder? [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Anyway, my standard line when walking past people is to not shoulder check them. Of course, some times I bump into people unintentionally or it's a friend and then I do it as a playful thing. I'm not sure what the point of shoulder checking him is.

Why were you motivated to do this, exactly? He sent you a mean text message? I just can't imagine deliberately causing a physical confrontation over some guy who got dumped by my girlfriend.

Oh, be prepared to get jumped at the bars one night. He almost certainly knows who you are now, and knows that he got punked.
