Maniac 3/6...is there a method to his maddness?
I was playing 3/6 at Harrah's in St. Louis last night. Guy sits down while waiting for a spot at the NL table. Proceeds to raise/reraise/rereraise or cap every single hand. Every one. With 7 or 8 people calling him ever hand I figured to just sit back and wait and once I got something it would be a monster pot (I never seemed to find one, but that's besides the point).
What I couldn't understand was that he was just killing hte game. My question is, with that many people is there some implied odds issue that makes all those hands playable? I can't see how...but he was taking down monsters continuously with Q8, 93, ect... I imagine it was either just a streak, dumb luck or I'm missing something important. Any ideas? |

short term variance...maniacs have the largest swings, when they are hot they win huge, but most of the time they will just lose all their money really fast...
