Basic. Need Help with push ranges.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (7 handed) converter
MP2 (t1030) CO (t2510) Button (t2535) SB (t800) Hero (t1210) UTG (t5270) MP1 (t1645) Preflop: Hero is BB with (x,x) 1 fold, MP1 calls t150, 1 fold, CO calls t150, Button raises to t300, So the pot is...600...half my stack... I know I don't NEED to push here...but it seemed like a decent re-steal spot...but felt lost on WHAT hands I should or shouldn't push with... Button is semi-solid, but has min-raised trash on button once before. Plus, not that it matters in the limits I play...but 20 hands in and I have yet to play a hand. (2 big blind check/folds and 1 limp check/fold) So if the guy is decent (which he doesn't seem to be) I would have image on my side. Whats your push range here? |

Re: Basic. Need Help with push ranges.
Pretty tight. 99+, AQs+ at the very least.

Re: Basic. Need Help with push ranges.
What range will BTN min-raise and then fold getting 2-1 for 900t more and with >8BB left if he loses? I don't think there is one. The min-raise is not a steal. He doesn't expect the limper to fold. There is no resteal here.

Re: Basic. Need Help with push ranges.
The peice you may be missing is that the button was a bad player who is capable of min-raising J7o and who probably doesn't doesn't know much about pot odds...
That aside - I'm happy to know what the push range against a decent player would be. :-) |
