Default Is The Order of the Deck Preserved in Online Poker?

In other words, is the order of the entire deck pre-determined randomly and then "dealt" out in that order? Or... is the next card to be dealt simply randomized "on the spot?" My question essentially has no greater value than wondering whether or not it is worth it to see what card "I would have gotten" in stud had I called the previous bet. Also, I just thought this was an interesting online mystery that I have never seen discussed.

Default Re: Is The Order of the Deck Preserved in Online Poker?

The way I understand it, is that the next card is randomly selected on the spot from all remaining cards in the deck. I know it feels more legit to visualize some "virtual deck" that is laid out top to bottom, but its just as easy/practical/fair to randomly draw from remaining cards as if they were all splayed out on a table. This also is an added safeguard, since it makes the randomized pick happen at each step, making the next card unpredictable for even the creftiest of hackers, etc.
