Default Pocket 9s played all wrong.

pokerroom.com 0.25-0.50 nl.

(numbers are a little off just close estimates as pokerroom is dealing with hand history problems)

utg - $35.00
utg+1- $17.00
mp1 - $28.00
hero - $21.00
sb - $27.00
bb - $26.00

Reads on SB - plays too many hands aggresive after the flop with top pair.

Reads on utg - pretty solid player, only seen him showdown premium hands no junk

Sorry i dont know how to make it nice and neat.

30 mins. into the game I am dealt 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

utg - calls 0.25
utg+1 folds
mp1 - folds
hero raises 0.50
sb - calls 0.50
bb - folds
utg - calls 0.25

(4.5 bb)

flop comes 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

hero checks, sb bets $2.00, utg calls $2.00, Hero calls $2.00

(16.5 bb)

turn 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

hero checks, sb bets $3.00 , bb calls $3.00, hero calls $3.00

(34.5 bb)

River 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

hero checks, sb bets $21.50 (all in), bb folds, hero ???

I know, I was playing this hand way too weak. Now I'm left with a big decision on my hands. Not sure if he has pocket pairs full house or just trying to buy the pot with overcards. What do you guys think?

I'll post the results later.

Was that a min raise preflop?
Bet 2/3 of the pot after you raise more preflop.

Easy fold on the river.

And how did BB get back into the hand on the turn? Must've liked the cards he mucked.

I agree. The min raise is where you went wrong. Low pocket pairs can be tricky (especially shorthanded were people get aggressive). I think you should have raised to $1 preflop. Followed by a pot-size on the flop.

The way you played it, your fold on the river was the correct move.

I really wanted to make the call but i folded. SB showed pocket 4s. Pretty tricky play on his part betting out when he made his full house.
