Calling down check-raises
I've been looking at some of my hands where I get check raised after a continuation bet and call down. Although I usually only do this against aggressive players, it doesn't seem to be working well. Are these two hands misplayed? Also if you have any instructive call-downs against a c/r please post them.
Hand 1 (6-handed) Villain is 51/33/.79 through 180 hands Villain raises UTG, 2 folds, I 3-bet on the Button with AsKc, SB folds, BB folds, Villain calls. Flop (HU): 10h 6s 8c Villain checks, I bet, Villain calls. Turn: 4h Villain checks, I bet, Villain raises, I call. River: 2h Villain bets, I call? Hand 2 (6-handed) Villian is 79/28/1.7 through 61 hands I open-raise on the button with AdJc, SB (villain) calls, BB folds. Flop (HU): 9c 8c 8s Villain checks, I bet, Villain calls. Turn: 4d Villain checks, I bet, Villain raises, I call. River: Kh Villain bets, I call? |

Re: Calling down check-raises
IMO hand 1 is a fold on the turn UI. He seems reasonable and he's going to have more than air pretty often here.
Hand 2 I think is ok, but the river call is still close; against a less insane villain I could find a fold on the river but this guy seems like the type that will bluff check-raise a worse hand pretty often. |
