Default Buy-In Stack Theory and question

Generally, I find deep stack NL much more difficult to play than mid-stacks... Moreover, I have found that others will often call more when behind because my stack isn't huge... they are willing to take the worst of it more because 'he only has $30 left' or something...

ie, this happened to me last night...

I have a $43 stack in a .50/1 blind game

I am BB with JJ and call a MP raise of $6...

2 players, pot is $13.50

flop comes 9 7 2 with 2 hearts...

I check and PFR bets the pot ($14)

I check raise all-in for a total of $37 (14 call + 23 raise)

I get called by AK AQ AJ AT A9 type of hands because 'its only $23 more'...

Default Re: Buy-In Stack Theory and question

i've been playing mostly MTT's since party went to 100x stacks, and i feel like i've been a little slow to pick up the nuances of playing deeper.

so right now i'm buying in for 60x to try to ease into the deeper games; once i feel comfortable with it i'll go to 70x, etc.
