Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed)
I've only been at this table for one complete orbit, although I can already see that UTG is fairly loose-passive. No reads on the other two players. Preflop: chesspain is BB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls, UTG+1 raises, 4 folds, Button calls, 1 fold, chesspain calls, UTG calls. Flop: (8.33 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) chesspain bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, Button calls. Turn: (5.66 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) chesspain bets, UTG calls, Button folds. River: (7.66 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) chesspain bets, UTG calls. Final Pot: 9.66 BB Main Pot: 9.66 BB, between chesspain and UTG. |

What are you looking for here? Questioning the flop bet.
I like betting the flop here. There's a decent chance nobody has a K even with the preflop raiser. Sometimes you bet here and he folds an underpair. Your other option is to checkraise, but that might tie him to the pot. I like your line. -Michael |

It looks like either way the best you can hope for is that you trap one of them for an extra flop bet, and I think the Button will be easier to trap with a check-raise than UTG will be by the squeeze play.

I think the best he can hope for is to win some of the times he hits nothing.
FWIW, I think three opponents is about the cutoff here. Against three, you make a play for the pot, with four you probably go for a value call/checkraise depending on other conditions. -Michael |

I understand, but I also imagine there's a pretty good chance he can still win even when he hits nothing by check-raising the flop, and when that does happen he'll win more.
I imagine UTG+1 will bet the flop if checked to about 99% of the time. If he doesn't have a King or better, or another hand he deems worthy of calling down, he'll probably call the flop c/r then fold on the turn. (Or fold to the flop c/r, which is fine also.) Even if our hero goes for a "trapping" c/r and misses because the Button folds, I think he's still in better to shape to win when he hits nothing (by check-raising UTG+1 only) than he is by just betting out on the flop. |

Check raise the flop.

Not that it really matters much, but UTG showed A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], and MHIG.
