A pair of aces, maybe with a K and Q, double-suited is pretty nifty for a high-only hand. AKQJ for the nut straight works as well, with the flush possibility it's even better.
Four cards to the wheel isn't bad either, unless of course there isn't even a low or straight possible. A23x, AA2, AKK2, A2K with another wheel card, there aren't really a lot of hands that can compare with those. You can raise preflop, but then have to give them up when you see the flop sometimes, that's really when you find out if you have a good hand or not. |
