When you make a blocking bet, you're supposed to fold to a raise.

[/ QUOTE ] (quoting myself here) if i didnt think the guy had it then i should come out with a 2/3-potsized bet, right? meh.. i guess i got kind of weak on the river in this hand. |

Dude could have 810, Q10, A2, 58, A5, 510, just such a wide variety of hands beating you that I think you should fold to the minraise without hesitation.

[/ QUOTE ] looking back on the hand i really couldve gotten myself into trouble seeing as how there was no preflop action and it'd be hard to determine what i'm up against. at first i thought i played it well, but now i'm thinking i totally f'd it up! well i had the "gut feeling" that i was ahead the whole time - what does that count for? |

Re: too aggressive with TPGK? 50NL
Let's see....you led the flop with TPGK and villain raised you. Yes, it's a min-raise, but it's also a PSB (not counting villain's "call" before the raise).
An A hit on the turn, you lead again and now villain cold calls. So, he doesn't seem to be afraid of either the A or the Q, which makes me think we're looking at 2 pair or a set, or else villain is a complete moran (which, based on his stats, isn't the case). The T at the river made things even worse, since it brought in the straight that villain may have been fishing for. You didn't say how often villain's going to showdown, but unless his WSD% is abnormally high, I think I'm done with this hand when he calls my turn bet. As played, I check/fold that river. |

Re: too aggressive with TPGK? 50NL
Villain with those stats isn't likely fishing for any straight. I would think he had you earlier, but there isn't any big mistake I can see until the river call. It was a bad situation. What is the best way to avoid these though?
