Default Strassa\'s JJ on final table

I saw this hand on Frozen's realplayer site, and I am just stunned by this play. I can't argue with it, but I also can't understand it.

If this play were made by someone I didn't know and respect I'd be screaming "WEAK TIGHT!!!" but Jason is anything but that. I'd love to hear Jason's thoughts, but if anyone else would chime in here, I'm all ears.

Final table of a Super Monday. Since I'm not playing, I have no reads.

Villain open limps then reraises two players. The reraise is so small that it begs for a call.

Jason says, "hmmm...this JJ is starting to look a lot like 44. I think I'll play this for set value."

When opponent pushes on rag flop, Jason is convinced that opponent does indeed have AA/KK (with a lesser possibility of QQ/AKs) and decides to fight another day.

My best guess,
Che

I totally agree w/ Strassa's fold.
Once there is a raise and then a check reraise, usually your Jacks are a gone goose b4 the flop. The only difference is I would have dropped the hand b4 the flop. At best he was a coin flip, and most likely facing AA, or KK from the call reraiser.

Ug. Sorry about this post. The replayer hiccoughed and I didn't see the limp re-raise. (Then I didn't read the text before I posted.)

This makes sense to me. Again, never mind.

Jason made 2 mistakes in this hand; folding the flop was not one of them.

i would've reraised on the first raise to ~20k. jason is setting himself up for an ugly spot if he call the raise, all others fold, and the flop comes Kxx. pre-flop raiser was likely on a steal, so no way to know if he hit top pair.

In case any other noobs are interested (I found it pretty useful), you can watch Jason's tournament Here, and read his commentary here.

Nice companion pieces I thought.

Yes, I made 2 mistakes on one street. What's the record?

-Jason

P.S. as woodguy mentioned there has been a thread about this hand previously.

Yep, and it's a good one. (The links are elsewhere in this thread.)

As always, thank you Jason.
