tilt problems
I hate to lose, probably more than most. Ive been away from poker for 4 months due to my discouragement with certain beats and tilting. I've returned to the game this past week but my mindset hasnt changed. I play good for a few hours an then some stupid hand comes up where i try to pull the greatest bluff and it fails miserably and i lose my stack. I have this issue with pride that really ruins my game postflop. I'm looking for some ideas or ways to change this. I've decided to cut my playing to only a few hours so that i am fully awake and aware. I think being tired brings out the fool in me.

Re: tilt problems
You're human right?
You're not the Pope so you're fallible. You are allowed to make mistakes. It's been my experience that prideful people have a poor self image. You tried to make a "play" and and it didn't work. Do you really think so little of yourself that you need to beat yourself up every time you make a mistake? Are you concerned that when you make a mistake and other people notice it, that somehow they will think less of you? Guess what. At the table, nobody cares what you do or how you feel. Quit trying to impress others by making "the greatest bluff". Make good strategical decisions based on the game at hand. Don't tie the results of your decisions to your value as a human being for God's sake. It's a game. Best of luck |

I would venture a guess that a person who needs to win in order to eat hates losing more than you do. [/ QUOTE ] Looks to me like you have identified the problem. You need more endurance in your game or need to stop playing when the stress of it exhausts you. If you are consistently winning early (with a large enough sample to judge from), then it sounds to me, like you are a few steps away from becoming a winning player. |

Re: tilt problems
Play limit - your game (and stack) won't go to hell in one hand like it can in NL.
