Default AQs with bad turn card. Bet or not bet?

This is my second hand at the table, should I bet on the turn here to avoid free cards or check behind to control potsize? As played is river call or fold?

Are you asking if you were the BB in the hand? I doubt it. I would like to see some strategy before I post results. I am this (troublesome) situation all the time. I always thought it was bet and fold to a raise...

The problem you will encounter by checking behind on the turn is you put yourself in a bad position on the river. What do you do if you face a pot sized bet now? You pretty much have to fold. Bet the turn and proceed with caution. On the river, it looks like villain is either begging for a call or blocking with a wierdly played AK or weaker A. You should probably fold knowing your beat. I would call anyway and make a note.

After the min-raise and 1 caller, why not re-raise PF to around $3 or so. Calling $1 you just giving better odds to button and blinds.

Raise and make them pay to play as well as to get a better indication of what they have.
