Default T9o in the SB

Party 5-10 6 max, 6 players right now
Lag open raies from UTG+1, Co, and button cold call.
I am in the SB w/T9o i think a sec and complete, and
as expected the BB also calls.
flop is Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
I check, BB checks, Lag bets folded to me and I raise
BB 3 bets and we both call.
turn is the 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I check, BB bets, Lag raises,
I 3 bet BB folds, Lag calls.
River is the Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
I bet, Lag calls

Bad playing but you got lucky. The preflop call is horrible (way too loose). I don't like the weak semibluff on the flop as well (a call or fold would be better here IMO).

That is kinda of what I thought, bad play thoughout. But, preflop you would auto call T9s in the SB here correct, where is the cutoff on what you would call?

There's a lot of difference between T9s and T9o.

There's a lot of difference between completing and semi-cold calling a raise.

There's a lot of difference between a 2:5 blind structure and a 1:2 or 2:3 blind structure.

The only place you can consider calling a raise with T9o is the BB, there is a thread dealing with this kind of play here:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...14&fpart=1

And perhaps a steal-raise from SB against BB who won't call every hand.

T9s is a different matter. OTB with limpers you can limp in or, preferably, raise if you think you can buy a free ride to the Turn (but if your LAG is going to bet out anyway, this play won't work). I think a raise PF and you should seriously consider folding this (exc. BB).

Folded to you OTB or CO you can open-raise against weak or tight opposition. Facing a LAG or Maniac, where you could get isolated (they act after you), I would rather have a better holding and fold T9s.

Opinions on this from others would be welcome, as it's a hand I am not entirely sure of.
