Best WPT or ESPN episodes
Hi everyone,
I'm a late comer to watching poker on TV. I recently purchased and have watched the first season of the WPT. There are some episodes that I really enjoyed and others that weren't quite as good. I'm wondering if people could weigh in on what their favorite WPT or ESPN episodes based both on educational and entertainment value. My favroite episodes from the first season of the WPT are: Episode 1: "Five Diamond World Poker Classic," Bellagio, Las Vegas, NV Episode 5: "Gold Rush Tournament," Lucky Chances Casino, Colma, CA Episode 6: "World Poker Finals," Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mashantucket, CT Episode 7: "Jack Binion World Poker Open," Horseshoe Casino, Tunica, MS Episode 8: "Euro Finals of Poker," Aviation Club de France, Paris, France Episode 9: "L.A. Poker Classic," Commerce Casino, Los Angeles, CA Episode 13: "WPT Championship," Bellagio, Las Vegas, NV Thanks everyone and Happy New Year. |

Re: Best WPT or ESPN episodes
2004 WSOP $5000(I think) NLHE event won by Thunder Keller. That Sousa guy was a character. Favorite line was in the hand where Thunder raised a healthy amount preflop with QQ and Sousa called in the BB with 45o or something similar to that. The flop came down KK3 and Sousa immediately moved all-in.
Keller engages Sousa in some conversation to try and pick up a tell and in the course of the discussion Sousa agrees to show if Keller folds. Keller finally says I can't call and Sousa tables his hand and in his best wise guy voice says "I was on a draw". Keller kept it together though and played some great Poker to win it. |

Re: Best WPT or ESPN episodes
I personally enjoy the ESPN episode with Doyle Brunson and Scott Fischman more than any other. Anybody who likes poker has to like seeing Doyle doing well. He was a one man wrecking crew in that episode.

Re: Best WPT or ESPN episodes
Yeah that was very entertaining.
Also, the aforementioned Soussa played very entertaining Poker. In the main event it was also very fun to watch Marcel Luske. Another entertaining episode is Ellix Power's "He called me with Jack high!". |
