bad turn fold?
I was calling turn raises far too often now I fear I've gone overboard the otherway. No read on the villain. Should I have called down here?
Party 3/6 6 max utg folds, ep limps, mp folds, I raise with nines, sb 3 bets, bb folds limper calls 2 and I call. 10 sb pot 3 to flop Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] sb checks, ep checks, I bet, sb calls, ep folds 6 bb pot heads up to turn Turn: T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] sb checks, I bet, sb raises and I fold. |

Re: bad turn fold?
The preflop 3-bet, flop check line is pretty damn scary for this board. It's about as ragged as it gets and he doesn't want to bet it out with an AJ-AK type hand? I'd bet the flop as you did and give serious consideration of checking through the turn once it's isolated against the PF 3-bettor before I consider folding to a turn c/r. You could induce a bluff from an AK type hand value betting the river, or save a bet vs. an overpair. This sounds somewhat weak-tight, but against this scary preflop/flop combo I think you just want to get to showdown as cheaply as possible.

Re: bad turn fold?
I usually fold here without a read, but I don't know if it's right. You're getting 5:1 effective odds to call down so you have to be fairly sure you're beat.
I would be slightly more suspicious if the turn was T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. |
