Just starting limit at PP
I play NL online and at home games, but I'm thinking limit is a better game for me to play right now because it has lower variance. What's some good advice for limit?
Are hands like K9s a lot better now? What do you re-raise with PF? What do you raise with PF? |

For example, I'm pretty sure I [censored] this up (thought it worked out):
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 raises, 3 folds, Hero 3-bets, 4 folds, UTG+1 caps, Hero calls. Flop: (9.50 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 bets, Hero raises, UTG+1 calls. Re: Just starting limit at PP
i'm for raising the turn too. why did u check? what did u think he had with a 6 hitting the board?
edit: nevermind. i guess you thought flush. oh i don't play NL, so i can't tell you if K9s is better, but i might consider it marginal at best and that is only with position. |

Re: Just starting limit at PP
You'll have to order some books, and keep reading these forums to learn limit properly. One thing though, doesn't NL ring at the low-limits have less variance than limit? Especially if you are playing deep-stacked games. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain I've read this fact several times in the NL forums.

Re: Just starting limit at PP
On the turn I was pretty sure I was ahead but figured I wanted him to bet again with AK, QQ, AA, etc, and I couldn't give him wrong odds to draw to the flush with the A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] anyway.
Figured it would make him lead into me on the river again. |

Re: Just starting limit at PP
I like your line on this hand. You only get paid off here if he has the flush on the turn. If he does you're drawing to four outs whic is not good. If you raise the turn and he might check/ fold the river.
