Default Call or Muck?

Hello, as you can probably tell I don't have much
experience playing the big stack at a final table
and so I wasn't quite sure what to do when this
situation came up:

Final Table of Paradise $30 + $0 Tourney, 179 entrants

Seat 8 is the button

Seat 1: Hero (95,963 in chips)
Seat 2: klokkeradio (33,624 in chips)
Seat 3: motorcity (23,307 in chips)
Seat 4: BuckO22 (38,075 in chips)
Seat 5: finger84 (38,995 in chips)
Seat 6: towin (4,390 in chips)
Seat 7: letshavit (6,600 in chips)
Seat 8: SodbusterG (5,842 in chips)
Seat 10: garkie10 (21,704 in chips)

klokkeradio: Ante (75)
motorcity: Ante (75)
BuckO22 : Ante (75)
finger84: Ante (75)
towin : Ante (75)
letshavit: Ante (75)
SodbusterG: Ante (75)
garkie10: Ante (75)
Hero : Ante (75)
garkie10: Post Small Blind (600)
Hero : Post Big Blind (1,200)

Dealing...
Dealt to Hero [ Kd ]
Dealt to Hero [ 9d ]

klokkeradio: Fold
motorcity: Fold
BuckO22 : Fold
finger84: Fold
towin : Raise (4,315)
letshavit: Fold
SodbusterG: Fold
garkie10: Fold
Hero : ???

No reads on towin as we just recently collapsed
to the final table and I haven't seen him do much.

Sorry for the raw HH but I can't get the converter
to include stack sizes.

Also, in case you can't tell from the HH above, I
was in the BB and the blinds were at 600/1200/a75.

To anyone thats wondering, I went on to finish
second in this tourney, my biggest cash yet.

I think this is a very easy call. Hopefully you have two live cards. It's not like your hand is total trash and you are getting decent pot odds. Also you can eliminate a shortie.

Default Re: Call or Muck?

You're being offered approximately t6,800 for an investment of t3,100, or close to 2.2:1, while committing only 3 % of your stack. If he holds QQ, JJ or TT that basically an even money proposition; only if he holds AA, KK, AK, A9, KQ, KJ, KT or AA are you substantially behind. Any other hand and you're getting generous pot odds to call, and should do.

I'm not saying you should play recklessly as the big stack at the FT. It's not your job (alone) to knock the smaller stacks out. But this is an easy one, because there can be no more action, and the pot odds are great.

As a general rule of thumb, if there can be no more action and the pot is offering you 2:1 or better you are usually looking at a call - if your stack can handle the volatility.

Best,

McMelchior (Johan)

Call. Metagame considerations (ie: I won't be screwed with) are nice. I doubt you are that far behind his range. I like to gambool here, and i mean hey, it's sooooted .
Edit: Rough pokerstove range:
