Default defending small blind

I think a very weak part of my game

Hero is sb with a tight table image
bb also has tight table image
villain is button no real read

Paradise Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
7 folds, Button raises

should I defend? and if so how so?
My gut feeling is that he's stealing.

You should wait for a hand with more showdown value.

Exactly. I prefer to defend with at least Q high, K in most cases.

Well...(shrugs shoulders) 3 betting would probably at least isolate. If he is stealing it will put the brakes on that and make him hit the board to continue calling if you lead. But this may only be profitable if it was at a shorthanded table....I use this some times if I think they attempt this steal everytime in CO or button if folded to them.....maybe use the force?
