Should I have raised pre-flop?
Online $1/$2, mostly LP, one maniac
I limp UTG with Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] MP poster checks, LP1 (maniac) calls, LP2 calls, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] The blinds check, I bet, poster folds, the rest call. Turn: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] The blinds check again, I bet, everybody folds. |

Re: Should I have raised pre-flop?
Instead of raising, the best play would be to never play this hand UTG.

Re: Should I have raised pre-flop?
Terrible call unless you're a zooster, then you have GrannyMae and should be raising.

Auto-fold. You got lucky this time.

No I would not raise preflop and I would have folded

Re: Should I have raised pre-flop?
If you are going to play a Granny, I think you at least have to raise and give yourself the best chance to win without a showdown.
In reality, although favorite hands can be fun they will only cost you money in the long term. |
