Pokerroom is BS but how should i play this hand?
okay at pokerroom clearing bonus and FWIW this site blows at continuing to reward worst hands, but this has no barring on the hand. anyhoo...
reads: CO is a weak-tighty as is everyone at this crap site. $1/$2 full ring Hero is UTG AKo Preflop: Hero raises, folds to CO, CO reraises, folded to Hero, Hero caps, CO calls. don't know if i should still cap because this 3-bet is an obvious premium pair, but oh well Flop: K47r Hero bets, CO calls Turn: Q Hero...??? okay so is there any reason to bet here? he either has me crushed or i'm WA. what do you think? |

i'm not on tilt. downswing yes, but tilt: no. i need reasoning why you think i should bet and what to do with the rest of the hand? is this an easy bet/fold?

Yeah I think bet/fold is fine. JJ/TT didn't need to give you credit for a king; and I don't want to give a free card on the odd chance he has AJs or AQs.

Bet fer chrissakes. [/ QUOTE ] And keep betting until he plays back at you. Do you really plan to check/fold? |

Re: Pokerroom is BS but how should i play this hand?
Checking sucks, because he checks behind with weaker hands and bets stronger ones. Check/folding TPTK on this board makes no sense to me, so you have to call if he bets anyway, and then you're completely lost for the rest of the hand anyway. So bet the turn.
If he raises and you're really confident in your read, then fold. Otherwise, call down. You're a much better player than me, so i should probably know better than to just give the obvious answer (even if Eegah said it first and i was just agreeing with him and adding a standard "pattern mapper" joke), but you do sound abnormally cranky, so tilt is a possibility, no? I'll also try this: behind: AA (3 combos) KK (1 combo) QQ (3 combos) ahead: JJ (6 combos) split (but if he's weak-tight he might fold if you keep betting): AK (6 combos) So we're behind 7 and ahead of 6. It's close, so i would rather bet than check. If you add TT or AQs to his 3-betting range, this improves our outlook. |

[/ QUOTE ] What has he done before in similar situations? If you don't know, then after this hand, you will certainly have more information on him than before. Bet. When you bet the flop and he called you, what did it mean? Do you know where you are at in the hand? You don't because he just calls. Since you said that he's not a tricky player, there is no reason to believe that you are not ahead. I have seen players three bet JJ, TT, 99, AQ, AJ. If he doesn't raise the turn, and catches up to win at the end, and beats you, he didn't make as much money as he could have, and you lost less. Big deal. Don't change your aggression because of a downswing. His passive plays could help you later on. |

[ QUOTE ] how should i play this hand? [/ QUOTE ] Just call the preflop 3bet from the weaktighty and c/r the flop. [/ QUOTE ] well truth be told that's what i did. but knew everyone (most) would scream "cap preflop cap preflop" so i decided to try and get past that. i think bet/folding against this guy IS the best play because he isn't 3-betting preflop and raising this turn with JJ or TT and so IS raising only hands that beat you and showing you're hand down against a weak tighty who only 3-bets premiums should be easy. sadly i didn't listen to what i figured was right and hoped he'd take a shot at me with AQ or JJ/TT. The real hand: Hero raises, CO reraises, Hero calls Flop: Kxx Hero checks, CO bets, Hero raises, CO calls Turn: Q Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls River: Q Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls Villain shows QQ for runner-runner quads. weak-tighties and 2-outers RULE! |
