Re: 11/22 nhl system - lots of action
what is the reasoning behind these picks?
do you just pick the line if it's better than +120? |

Re: 11/22 nhl system - lots of action
It appears that the line reflects home ice. Naturally, the home team is favored to win games, and therefore more favored to score first, but I'm thinking that by NHL rules, the Visiting team is more likely to score on their first shift. The reasoning is that the home team gets the to put their skaters on the ice last. The visiting team can't counter a high scoring line with a checking line, so they frequently put out their best scoring line first, which causes the home team to put out their checking line first. As a result, the visiting team usually starts with a more offensive line than the home team. I'm not sure that this means anything, but after looking at the +120 or greater part of this system, I think the rule helps mitigate the skill differences between teams.
For the record, I bet this system (though I'm taking +140 or better) on Saturday and I'm 3 for 4 so far. Good luck. |
