Too Agressive with Low pair?
Little history about previous play. No real reads on villain, haven't seen him get out of line. I have been playing like a weak tight nit, playing 3 hands total 20-25 minute into the tournament and have folded all to flop bets in multi-way pots. I figured because of my rock type image, entering a put would give me credibility for holding a strong hand.

Re: Too Agressive with Low pair?
I don't like this at all, raising 4bb from EP with 44? The flop play also seems really bad. Sorry, I think this line is pretty awful.

Re: Too Agressive with Low pair?
Firstly, I fold preflop. Your position isn't good enough to raise with here, though I'd be considering it from button/CO/CO+1.
Secondly, I fold the flop. A reraise beats a bluff, and what evidence do you have that he's on a bluff? It seems to me that you're throwing your chips away here, without some kind of ninja read. |

Is an open-limp out of the question?

[/ QUOTE ] Limp here only if your opponents suck, and you expect limpers behind, and you're pretty sure noone will raise and you can play a multiway pot for set value. If your opponents don't suck that bad then openlimping with this hand is asking for trouble. |

Re: Too Agressive with Low pair?
Given your "rock type image" do you really think villian is bluffing? If he's not bluffing, you've got to think he'll put you on a big pocket pair and be willing to fold something like top pair good kicker. I wouldn't want to depend upon villian to make such a laydown when all my chips are on the line.

Re: Too Agressive with Low pair?
I don't like an open limp here so if I choose to enter the pot (and sometimes I would just fold) I'm coming in for t150. If somebody had already limped I would limp behind. I fold to the flop bet.
