Default New Catch of the Decade nominee

Not sure how many people saw it because it happened in the 49er game, but Brandon Lloyd made one of the best catches I have ever seen. Unfortunately it was called back on a penalty, but it was simple amazing. Here's a pic of him making the grab:

And no, he wasn't standing still when he did it. It was at full speed. Amazing.

There were 2 very nice catches this week. Burleson had the other one for a touchdown. But Lloyd's catch makes my jaw drop every time I see it.

I can't believe they haven't retired Mike Wilson's number yet.

Marvin Harrison had a more impressive one sometime in the last 2 years.
Sprinting full speed, the only way he could catch the ball was by throwing himself forward and stretching out and catching it in one hand. Not only does he get the hand on the ball, but he then proceeds to twist his body IN MIDAIR so that he lands on his back instead of on his stomach, as the ball would certainly come out from him hitting his arm on the turf.

Most impressive combination of physical prowess (which I think itself trumps Lloyd's catch) and presence of mind I have ever seen in a WR play.

I remember this catch and if this is the one you are talking about, it was very impressive. But do you see how high off the ground Lloyd is? Not to mention the pass was behind him, meaning his momentum was taking him the complete opposite direction. Harrision was awesome, Lloyd's was simply amazing.

No, that's not it-he caught the ball in midfield and was actually parallel to the ground when he caught the ball.

I remember the catch you're talking about, but I can't find a photo of it. For some reason I'm thinking it was against the Lions last year, but I could be way off. He caught it deep over the middle, and was probably downed at the 10 yard line or so. I think it was double coverage and he had them both beat deep.

I'd agree it was probably the best catch I've seen, especially considering the presensce of mind to do the roll-over-to-his-back-midair move.

I think it was the one in TN two years ago.

That's not even Marvin Harrison's best catch of the past few years. His best (and maybe the best I've ever seen) was in 2001 or 02, Raiders at Colts, Manning threw to Marcus Pollard or someone in the endzone and it bounced off his hands and Harrison happened to be in the very back on the endzone where the ball caromed, and he caught it with one hand as he was falling backward out of bounds. Anyone else remember that one?
