$11 - Small Pair 5 handed
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx
MP (t2510) Button (t1845) SB (t1190) BB (t5665) Hero (t2290) Preflop: Hero is UTG with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero calls t200, 1 fold, Button calls t200, SB raises to t1190, 1 fold, Hero raises to t2290 I have no idea how I should've played this. When SB pushes, I'm pretty confident I'm against two overs, and I'm also pretty confident Button will fold behind me. |

Yeah, a hand like this, if you decide you're going to call a push by a shorty, I like just making the raise to begin with.

How do you know that he has two overs? Why can't he have, say, JJ?

[ QUOTE ]
Never mind. Splashpot posted almost exactly the same hand here. I shoulda pushed preflop. It's okay. I'll learn eventually. [/ QUOTE ] Be careful, these aren't the same situation. He had about 9 BBs, you had 11. The stack situatios are different as well. There are only 5 people left in yours (though you both had 4 behind you to act). You have a better feel for the table than any of us, so I'll just say that you should have a plan of action in a situation like this. Am I folding to any raise? Am I folding to the bigger stacks? I personally don't like the limp...if I'm intending to blast the field out with a raise I'd rather be the original raiser, and I don't think limping with the intention of seeing a flop is good either (what flops are you going to be willing to face any resistance on?). Personally, at my typical table I'm raising to 500 or so and would call the all-in from the SB, but I really questioning it. If you know you're willing to play for all your chips against any reraise then you should just push. -SonnyJay |
