100/200 nl AA weird spot
4 handed
utg (6k) folds, Hero (30k) raises 3x bb with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], SB (40k) calls, BB (30k) calls. J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (pot: 1800) chk chk, I decide to chk (not standard) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (pot: 1800) sb chk, BB bets 1800 (probably any 2 here), I decide to call, SB calls too... J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (pot: 7200) SB leads 5200, BB insta folds, Hero folds.... Weird hand for me. Not many reads really. I'm curious if is it possible SB is blocking with like KJ? Is he buying the pot hoping BB doesn't have the flush? It doesn't make sense that he wouldn't lead turn with a flush draw right, unless he was going for a c/r on turn but got weird when I called the pot bet? |

This looks a lot like you're playing scared.

Re: 100/200 nl AA weird spot
it looks like you played a line that was the most likely line to put you in trouble by the river, and on the river you got put in trouble because you had done that. bet the flop. i'm fine with checking behind on the flop being a variation play, but i don't understand how you don't raise the turn, if the main point of checking behind is to get someone to bet in to you on the turn...

Re: 100/200 nl AA weird spot
Not sure if you're asking about river specifically, but it looks like a good fold. I think sb is making a value bet, with better than 1 pair enough of the time to fold here. Obviously you know what everyone's going to say, but show some aggression on flop/turn.
JKratzer P.S. If you want to get frisky you could always try to raise SB off his hand, I agree he probably doesn't have the flush here. |

Re: 100/200 nl AA weird spot
why check the flop?
to induce action from a worse hand? then why not raise the turn? |

Re: 100/200 nl AA weird spot
I never thought SB would tag along for the ride since he didn't lead turn....I figured there was a really good shot that BB would bet river no matter what, but if I raised it'd look like some sort of weird slowplay so they'd fold most hands.

I decide to chk (not standard) [/ QUOTE ] That's, of course, fine, but with 3 way action on that board I think you could've picked a much better spot to mix it up - Like Heads-up on a 449 rainbow flop. |
