TT - overpair - action, your line?
stars $50NL - 6max, 6 handed
SB in this hand is somewhat tricky. he's an aggressive LAG, will reraise PF w/ AQ and up, will follow up with aggression on flop.. often fires 2nd and 3rd barrel. hero is LP w/ ~$50 villain is SB w/ ~$70 UTG calls, i make it $2 w/ Td Ts, fold, button calls, SB makes it $5.5 to go, fold, fold, i call. flop($17.5) 8c 2c 9d SB bets $9, i call?? - what is the best play here? i think its 50/50 between missed overs or an overpair. turn($35.5) 6c SB bets $35, putting me all in. who calls here? i don't put villain on a flush, possible AcKx/AcQx? what is villains hand range here. how often do you call this? |

Re: TT - overpair - action, your line?
I think SB has an overpair here, made AQ+s. Pf I might play back at him and fold to any more aggression. On the flop, a RR will commit you, and a fold might be too weak, since you know hes making cont bets. I fold the turn in a heartbeat w/o a club.

Re: TT - overpair - action, your line?
You provide a couple of reads:
1) LAG 2) will fire 2nd and 3rd barrell 3) somewhat tricky So with a re-raise on the flop you indicate that the range is likely AA - 55, AKs, AQs, AKo, AQo. The 1/2 pot bet on the flop to me reads overpair or monster draw ( AA-QQ, AKs, AQs of clubs ). Now, if you call here you should already be prepared to call at least 1/2 pot on turn ( by item #2 ), and by the time you do that you should already know you are pushing on the river or calling a push. It is seems by the question that you didn't make that decision and so should fold because you aren't confident enough that you are ahead. When he turns up the heat to full pot on the turn -- Really looks like he made his flush and figures you for a set that is willing to come along for the ride. A better line is to raise the flop to about $20. You will take away his momentum and be much more sure what a turn bet or check means. If he calls and the flush comes you are probably beat but he will likely check to you and then bet smaller on the river, you will end up losing less than the call line. If he does fold, fine -- you only had a pair of tens its a good pot. |
