Bodog 52+5 MTT
Blinds 10-20; Hero is on button with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Folds to Hero(T1200), raises to 70, villian (T1350) in BB calls Flop AKx rainbow Hero checks, villian bets 125, Hero calls Turn is a rag Hero bets 250, villian calls River is T (no flush possibilities) Hero bets 250, villian pushes, Hero? How can you be on the button and also acting first every time after the flop? Were you in the SB?

Re-raise the flop to 300..
Push the turn. There's tons of hands here that call you down that you crush, and you stomp out the gutshot. |

This is a bad beat story.
Villain called T250 on the turn when he should expect hero to have at least top pair leaving villain only 4 outs on the river. It's a terrible call on the turn but villain got lucky. I'd lead the flop for a small amount. A or K bets here, and its not going to be believable for you to bet in later rounds without one of these (ie. a flop bet), or a big hand. I'd be thinking about how to build a small pot: if it turns into a big pot that's great too. I'd lead the turn and the river with smaller bets that looked like blocking bets, hoping to get called by a K. |
