Ahhh, the Stars 5+.5 MTTs.
Table is loosey-goosey. First hand of level 2. You haven't played a hand yet, villain has been popping it preflop and postflop about half the hands in level 1. What's your play?
For those of you with the "Gotta call, it's the $5s" mentality, what MTT buyin do you NOT call a push with? Or, with this kind of read, do you always call? -IdiotVig PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (9 handed) converter UTG (t1850) Hero (t1410) MP1 (t3080) MP2 (t1280) MP3 (t3250) CO (t3400) Button (t1280) SB (t1330) BB (t2470) Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises to t120, 2 folds, MP3 calls t120, 4 folds. Re: Ahhh, the Stars 5+.5 MTTs.
I'm not sure what you were trying to accomplish with the 150 bet. If it was a probe, then why not fold and pick a better spot? If you were betting for value and were going to call an all-in anyway, why not bet about pot and represent the ten or move in, which might look like AKs? I'm assuming you got beaten, because you're posting. But if you've given yourself a chance to get away from a reraise, why not take it?
I do think about 1/2 the time you're facing a ten and the other half some sort of J or draw. You may just want to call and double up or bust out and play something else. Personally, I'm laying down to a reraise that puts me all-in, the way you've played it. |

You don't bet bigger because you are it is more likely then that you are only getting raised if you are beaten. |

Re: Ahhh, the Stars 5+.5 MTTs.
I would fold.
You might be ahead 1 in 3 times but it doesn't seem like a great call to me. Best to find a safer spot to double up. |
