Re: I quit poker
I don't think you are allowed to quit over that one. The stakes make it hard obviously but you wouldn't have batted an eye had this happened multitabling 15/30.

Re: I quit poker
I hope you appreciate some LOL's thrown in. Those are some funny hands.
You probably stand to make a ton of money off this guy over time, if you can keep your cool and have the bankroll. |

Unless our opponent knows stuff about UBs random card generator that you don’t, you should be able to profit huge from this guy.

Re: I quit poker
I can see why you would be frusterated, but how about some constructive criticism?
I watched most of that session. I was finishing up my record keeping, while railbirding the 150/300 game. I was suprised to see you issue an open challenge for 100/200HU at a table that contained 4 excellent players and at least (2) shorthanded specialists. I was more suprised when you were sitting at the 100/200HU table and a known HU specialist sat down that you did not move. Yes you did take some bad beats in that session. But if you go back and look you made more than your fair share of full houses on junk cards, had several 3-gappers fill in on the river for a straight, and made many small flushes. IT became apparent to me after about 20 min that you were being outplayed. The things he was doing to outplay you.. 1. He was value betting his rivers relentlessly. You were paying off too much. Not that you were paying off excessively, but you were paying off too frequently. 2. I am not sure how much you were semi-bluff checkraising on the turn. But it seemed like he was not paying those off too much. He would look you up randomly, just to keep you honest; but overall he was not paying you off. 3. You were on tilt after the 1st half hour and should have quit. If you chalk what happened last night to bad luck, you are doomed to go broke. It was not bad luck, you got outplayed, at a limit that is a little high for you. That sucks. But everybody gets outplayed at times. If I were you I would study the PT replay on that one. Until you can objectively evaluate your performace. Also I would stay away from the high-stakes HU specialists for a while. |

Re: I quit poker
Yep, I should. However, I was playing above my bankroll and when you're as aggressive as he is, variance is gigantic. He was hitting and drawing out nearly every hand. I had to stop when I was down 15k. I don't think I would've been able to play well anyway since I was so angry at that point.
Yesterday was a bad day. I took a big enough hit where I'll have to drop down to 15/30 and 30/60. |
