room service tipping. . .
yesterday me and my friend got room service. I got a diet coke and a caesar salad. He got a heinekin and a burger. The bill was like $59. I put it on the room and added $12.00 since I am a big fish. My friend tells me that they add 18% into the bill along with the room service charge, which makes sense since all that was $59.00, and I remember the salad only cost 8 bucks on the menu. He said I should have tipped nothing on the bill, but still personally given her like 5 bucks extra, since the cc bills get split between all employees. What is proper here?

Re: room service tipping. . .
Room service has 15-20% tip added in addition to the $3-5 delivery charge. I don't add anything unless the server is really nice or really hot, in which case I'll add a few bucks.
