2001fp is too narrow
I just got a 2001fp yesterday, that great $460 deal. I hooked it up, and it's too narrow! Can't four-table without overlap on it...the empire windows go off the right edge a little.
I've got a GeForce4 Ti4600 that has one DVI and one analog output, a Viewsonic VP201b is running off the DVI, and the 2001fp is running on the analog. I spent a little over an hour looking for stuff on Dell's site, but it looks like it really sucks. Anyone know how to fix this problem? |

Re: 2001fp is too narrow
If you set the resolution to 1600x1200 there should be no problems at all putting up 4 Party tables with no overlap.

Are you zoomed in?

Re: 2001fp is too narrow
Make sure the DPI setting is set to normal size (96 DPI). To check this right click on your wallpaper anywhere, click on properties, then on the settings tab. Next click on the advanced button on the bottom right and on the top will display the current DPI setting, make sure its not changed to 120 or something.

Re: 2001fp is too narrow
Not sure what you mean by zoomed in...
Text size is 96 pixels. It's not a whole lot, it just seems like there are 20-30 pixels that are running off the side or something. Like when I put two windows next to each other, all the resize icons are cut off. |

Re: 2001fp is too narrow
I know this sounds completely stupid, but try putting the 2001fp on the DVI.
I have the 4400Ti, and have my 2001fp hooked up to the DVI port, and I have pixels to spare between my Party windows. As usual, my advice has little to no technical basis, but it's how I have mine set up and it works great. |

Re: 2001fp is too narrow
I have my 2001FP hooked up to VGA, and I have room to spare as well.

Re: 2001fp is too narrow
it's not "stretched", is it? like the start button running off the left side and the clock off the right at the edges? If so, this is solved with the buttons on the monitor itself.
Text size is different from DPI. |
