party 6 max NL great table
utg (decent), and MP (48/22/3...$1.2k) limp, i join them with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. sb ($3k) a maniac who has said "he just plays for fun" (59/30/2.5), makes it 60 from the SB, not sure what this means, but he has at least something here, not 34s. limpers call, i call. flop ($275): 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] sb bets pot (he has at least AJ here, id say), MP raises all in a flash. its on me, I have $1k left. |

With 55 here, I think the default play is to call.

i was talking to a 2+2er, and before i told him about the hand, i said that i need a post title, and that is what was recommended.
disregard it if that helps. |

MP could have something like 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] but it seems equally likely that he could play a set like this, especially if Maniac is type that'll call 120bb with a TPTK type hand.
If Maniac will come along, I'd be tempted to call getting 3.2 to 1, although someone's going to have FH redraw a substantial amount of the time. Best case scenario MP has 97s, and maniac has AK/AQ/AJ. But I don't know if I want to gambool for my entire stack when I know I have to catch a spade to win. |

[/ QUOTE ] That's actually not a great scenario because 4 of your flush outs are missing (2 in his hand, 2 more making a straight flush). That leaves you with less flush outs and 3 2's to make a hand. Best scenario is what you listed except SB folds. |

can MP be raising all-in here on a draw? On a set? What do you think? If it's more likely to be a draw, I like a call... you never know, maniac could fold an AJ type hand (maybe? - need to know the player). If I had to guess, it seems like your equity would be around even money - so if you like to gamboool, then call I can think of a lot of good scenarios and some bad ones, but you're pretty live in all of them - so it can't be that bad to call even if you're wrong.

other than those PT #'s, i dont have any detailed knowledge of their play, esp. postflop.

Is the title a clever way of saying SB has 55?
Anyway, if you think MP is willing to make this play with 57[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]/79[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (which he probably is) then I am much closer to calling. Otherwise his most likely hand is a set which decreases your equity greatly. SB will probably call, right? |
