Fitness: Running Before Bed
IF I go for a one mile run after poker tonight, will it be worthwhile in temrs of weight loss? Will it keep me up late?

Re: Fitness: Running Before Bed
I used to do this. I lost a bunch of weight. Just don't take any pills like aspirin or whatever before going to bed unless you plan on eating because those things will eat through your stomach and you will be hurting in the morning.
I think there may be something to running before bed time because I think the body looks for energy to burn and with nearly nothing in your stomach, it burns the extra fat on you. |

[/ QUOTE ] This has more to do with running on an empty stomach than running before bed. It just happens most people haven't eaten in quite a while when they go to bed. Ideally, to burn weight you'd do it after waking up b/c your body won't be in such a starved state later in the day. Yugoslav |

[/ QUOTE ] It's different for females, who start burning fat for energy far earlier than men do, but anyway fat doesn't get burned in men for a very long time as an energy source. A one-mile run won't do it, or even a much longer run. |

I'm not exactly sure what you're even asking here Maulik . Are you talking about...playing poker late, then running for a quick mile and then trying to go straight to sleep? I think goign to sleep after that would be difficult. Yugoslav |

Re: Fitness: Running Before Bed
if you can run a mile then you dont need to lose weight. anyway brisk walking is better for you as running will come back to haunt you later in life if you do too much.
